Design a Warning System to Save Lives!

Invent a system that sends automatic alerts to the authorities when the water in the local dam reaches dangerous levels.

The Alerts

  • The programme is connected to a weather app. Water level in the dam increases by 1 metre on rainy days
  • Send out alerts when the water level reaches a pre-determined danger level
  • Reset the programme when the authorities drain the dam

Behind the scenes

  • Programme can be used for all dams nationwide by customising the threshold water level to the capacity of the dam
  • The rate of increase in water level on rainy days can be calibrated with the change in weather patterns
